I am completly baffled by some of the people at my church. The sunday school class that Andy and I attended for a short while, keeps asking me to help supply meals to other moms who have had babies. BUT they never offered to bring us even one meal. And yes they know we just had a baby. That hurts!
I work in the nursery and take care of their kids, which is why I am still on the classes mailing list, and I see them every sunday. I can't belive that they are asking me to feed these mommas while I struggling to keep my own head above water. I also don't know if I should tell them to just stop asking me because I have a two year old and an EIGHT WK old of my own. Or if I should let it alone.
Part of me wants to tell them to stop asking for the next couple of months and make sure I send a copy of the email to the ss teacher. But I know that seems petty so I won't do that.
I just feel like they keep asking me to do more and more for them and they don't see that I am only one person, who feels like she's drowning.

I don't think it's wrong of you to let them know that you are unable to do this right now and why. Hey, I'd love to help out, but you know we have a toddler and newborn of our own and things are kind of hectic right now... good enough, right? It'll get better.
I would totally tell them. Exactly what Tara said...I would love too but right now it's hard enough for me to get dinner on the table for my husband, toddler, and find time to feed myself while I'm taking care of my brand new baby. THANKS!

I'd bring you over some pizza or take out. I am a big fan of not cooking right now. I'm swamped. :)

I did respond to the email. i said that I was sorry but Iwas not going to able help with meals for new moms because with my 2 year old and 8wk old things were a bit crazy here right now
See, sometimes it is ok to say no or I can't do this right now. :) I think most moms have this problem, they think they are a failure if they can't do it all. And that is not true!
you have to let us know if they email you back. lol. :)
